Kanye Is Going to Perform At The 2013 MTV VMA’s  •  News  •  by B.J. Steiner

2. Kanye West ft. Pusha T “Runaway,” My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010)

It was announced today that Kanye will be performing at this year’s VMA’s, which will be aired lived from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25. MTV made the announcement live from the Brooklyn Bridge before sharing the news on social media outlets like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram across the country.

It’s no secret that Kanye West and MTV’s Video Music Awards have had a storied and often troubled history together. Most famously, Kanye bum-rushed the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video in 2009 to complain about the injustice of Beyoncé not winning the award.

The rapper will perform “Black Skinhead” off his recently released hit album, Yeezus, and will be joined by pop singer Lady Gaga as one of the two performers currently scheduled at the moment. This will mark Kanye’s seventh performance on the stage after performing “Otis” with Jay Z in 2011 and “Runaway” in 2010.

XXL will keep you informed with any breaking news and scheduled performances at the VMA’s as more information is announced.
