Kelly Rowland’s Mother Dies at 66

R.I.P., Doris Rowland Garrison.

Kelly Rowland‘s mother passed away yesterday, Dec. 2, at the age of 66, E! News reports. She died in Atlanta, Ga., just a day after going into cardiac arrest.

“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Doris Rowland Garrison,” Kelly said in a statement (via her rep). “She was an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman — and now mother — I am today. We humbly appreciate all the love and support and only ask for privacy during this difficult time.”

Tragically, Kelly’s mom’s death comes just weeks after the Destiny’s Child singer gave birth to her first child, Titan Jewell Witherspoon, on Nov. 4. Less than a week ago, Kelly posted an Instagram photo of her baby’s feet, with the caption “The most happiest moment of my life.”

We’re glad that her mother at least had the opportunity to welcome her grandson into the world.

Our thoughts are with Kelly Rowland and her family during this unimaginably hard time.

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) –

Parking is already a challenge in downtown Nashville, and it could be about to get even more difficult.

The Music City Center garage has become a go-to spot for people working or visiting downtown. Now, the city is considering a deal that would reserve a large portion of that garage for future employees of the new Bridgestone headquarters.

Bridgestone’s new downtown office will be short on parking. The company expects 1,700 workers at the new skyscraper, but only 1,150 parking spaces.

On Monday, Rich Riebeling, Nashville’s director of finance, said the overflow Bridgestone employees will be able to park in the Music City Center garage.

The convention center’s garage opened in May 2013. It’s the largest parking operation in downtown Nashville, with roving security and reasonable rates.

Riebeling said it’s a good idea for the Music City Center since the spots aren’t all full during the day.

Bridgestone employees will pay $110 a month per spot. The advertised monthly rate for the garage is $88 a month.

Under the terms of the deal, the Music City Center garage would guarantee daytime parking for up to 775 Bridgestone employees. The garage holds 1,800 spots.

Charles Starks, president and CEO of the Music City Center, said they do not have trouble filling the garage. He said the garage is normally full for major concerts, sporting events and conventions.

Starks said the garage is a good profit center for the Music City Center. He said they are looking to grow their revenue through monthly parking contracts.

Bridgestone’s new headquarters is being built on a lot currently used for parking, which will erase even more spots.

Another parking lot four blocks down is also going to be razed for a new mix-used tower.

Kate Middleton and Prince William: Fighting Constantly? Is Duchess Living With Her Parents?!

Royal Eye Gazing

Now that Kate Middleton’s health has improved, the British tabloids need some new Duchess drama to report.

She hasn’t been making many public appearances as of late, so those famous Kate Middleton wardrobe malfunctions have been kept to a minimum.

As such, the UK press has been forced to fall back on the old stand-by and claim that Will and Kate are headed for divorce after weeks of stiff-upper-lipped arguments over tea and crumpets.

So what’s the cause of the alleged “marital issues?” Well, it seems Will and Kate simply can’t agree on where to spend the holidays.

Yup, it’s that serious. Better call the divorce attorney and start dividing up the empire.

The original agreement was that the couple would alternate between their parents’ homes each year.

In 2011, they started by joining the royal family at Sandringham House. Now that it’s once again time to spend the holidays in Kate’s native Bucklebury, however, Will has reportedly refused to budge.

Sources say he offered a lame “compromise” in which both families would be invited to Will and Kate’s new home in Norfolk.

The problem is, that’s really not a compromise at all, as the Norfolk house is literally on the grounds of Sandringham House.

London tabloid The Inquisitr claims Kate was so upset by Will’s attempted shenanigans that she’s moved back in with her mum and dad.

Of course, we’d previously heard that Kate is living with her parents as a result of her ongoing health struggles, but apparently someone decided it would be more interesting if Will and Kate were having an epic, blow-out Christmas fight.
